KATRINA VERA
Trauma Therapy Intern
Katrina is a wife and mom who is pursuing her Master of Social Work at Pittsburg State University, where she also earned her BSW. Originally from Miami, OK, Katrina moved to Joplin in 2020 and became a resident at God's Resort. Since then, she has embraced her spiritual identity, built stability for her family, and was blessed to have a Habitat for Humanity home built for her family.
Katrina’s professional journey has centered around childcare since 2021, and through this work she has developed a deep passion for helping children feel safe, understood, and supported in their healing. As a therapy intern, under the supervision of Angie Brower, LCSW, she believes every child deserves a space where they are truly seen and heard. She strives to create that environment through empathy, play, and evidence-based practices. Katrina’s goal is to walk alongside children and families as they navigate challenges, build resilience, and discover hope for the future.
Katrina is now accepting new clients and is currently seeing children and adolescents on their path toward their healing journey.
