SHELBY CARNES
Trauma Therapy Intern
Shelby Carnes is currently accepting clients as she begins her counseling internship under the supervision of Angie Brower, MSW, LCSW. She is pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with specialized interests in trauma counseling.
Over the past five years, Shelby has worked with children and families in both the child welfare system and school-based services as a case manager. She is passionate about supporting children and adolescents who have experienced difficult circumstances, are navigating major life transitions, or are struggling with the emotional challenges of growing up.
Shelby believes in meeting clients where they are in their personal journey and fostering trust through play, empathy, and compassion. She is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where healing can take place through meaningful connection and steady progress, one step at a time.
Shelby feels honored to walk alongside clients in their stories, help them work toward their goals, and provide a holistic approach to emotional and mental well-being.
Shelby is now accepting new clients and is currently seeing children, teens, and young adults.
